How often does my septic system need an inspection?
Washington state code requires it. Systems with a pump must be inspected every year. Conventional gravity systems need one every three years. A home sale also requires one.
How often does my tank need to be pumped?
Most tanks need pumping every 3 to 5 years. Some can go longer, depending on the size of the tank and how much the system gets used. We measure the sludge and scum levels at every inspection, so you'll know when it's time. If it's due, we'll connect you with a trusted local pumper.
How can I make my septic system last longer?
Only flush toilet paper, go easy on bleach, harsh cleaners and fabric softener, spread out laundry loads, fix leaky toilets and faucets, and keep up with your inspections. Small habits protect the bacteria your system depends on.
My septic alarm is going off. What should I do?
Silence the alarm, stop using water as much as you can, and call us. It usually means a high water level or a pump problem.
How do I know if my drainfield is failing?
Slow drains, pooling water, odors, or unusually green grass over the field are the common signs.
How long does a new septic installation take?
It depends on the system and the site. Some installs wrap up quickly, while larger or more complex systems take longer. We'll give you a clear timeline with your estimate.
